Lizzy is our little snuggler. She shares a room with Emily and if Mom is not available for a little snuggle in the morning (she is usually the first one up, not wanting to miss snuggle in bed with someone time) we often find her in Emily's bed with a fist full of hair, tickling her face with it.
Yesterday morning while she was having a little cuddle time with Mom, she told me, "I love you, but I love your hair more." What??? Okay, she really loves hair. Then she told me how she was going to marry Santa Clause because he would give her lots of toys. Her favorite toy of late is her Polly Pocket set of dolls - which she calls her darlings - and is going through therapy right now to be able to put them away without crying. Every day she puts them away with out a temper tantrum she earns a sticker. She really REALLY loves her darlings. She gives out more hugs a day than any other kid I have met and gets ready in the morning (bed making included) in about 5 minutes.
Debbie is really excited about her birthday. We have the day highlighted on the family calender and she asks me to point out each morning what today is so she can count the days until she is 5. What is her big birthday wish? Three packs of gum. Why? Because she saw me get some last week when I was couponing and she knows I have them stashed somewhere. She has started looking for services to do for her sisters and if anyone asks for a drink, a different fork, a napkin etc. while sitting at the dinner table she is the first to jump up and shout out "I'll get it!" She loves to do laundry - and in our house the water shoots out of a tube in the basement on the floor until it rolls down to the drain. After starting a load she will set up her chair and get a drink (from the kitchen thank goodness) and watch it shoot out like a little theater. Last night when I tucked her into bed got a sad look on her face and said "I had a bad day today... I didn't get to play memory with you." We promised promised to play on Monday.
Emily loves science. And figuring things out. She works on 500 piece puzzles, asks questions about multiplying hundreds (what? yep, she loves numbers and figuring out how they work) and after not being able to go to sleep tonight Chris went in to talk to her for a few minutes. She wanted to know about Jupiter, her and Chris look at stars a lot together, how does the earth turn, what is an axis, it's a good thing she has Chris, as I cannot even begin to answer most of her questions well enough to satisfy her. She has also been interested in how to be a missionary and wants to help the prophet teach everyone so we can all be in heaven together. Most evenings she will get her sisters together to read them a story and makes sure she remembers who's turn it is to pick. She tucks everyone in on the couch with a big quilt and then goes to town.
We are so grateful for the sweet little girls that we have. They all bring fun, laughter and love into our home.
