Mountain Climbers

The morning of Emily's baptism, we took a ride out to the Red Rock Canyon on the west side of Las Vegas. (There ARE entertaining things to do here that have nothing to do with slots!) The rocks are like sandpaper, so it makes climbing up quickly a breeze. Coming back down can be a little tricky though.

Elizabeth is a bit afraid of heights we have noticed lately and was scared to touch a toe to the mountain. She finally got brave enough to try walking on this almost flat rock while holding both of mom's hands. She was so proud of herself for being a big rock climber!

RJ was afraid of nothing! We had to slow him down a bit or we would have all been left in the dust. You can tell this boy is used to climbing just about anything.

My parents were a while behind us and we ran out of cell phone range by the time we got to the canyon, so we couldn't call and tell them where to meet us. A bit miraculously we ran into them just as we were sitting down to eat lunch at a campground. It was fun to have some nice relax in the mountains time before we got all dressed up for the baptism.
